Thank you for trying Perfect Diagram
If you haven't already - click on the top menu link "Downloads" and then "Sample Diagrams."
A window will open requesting an action on your part. Select the "save" option.
It is important to save the file somewhere you can find it after it has been downloaded. Most people download to their desktop. However, the choice is yours - just remember the location.
Locate the downloaded file. There are different ways to do this. (1) One is to simply locate the icon on the desktop. (2) Another is to right-click the "start" button in the windows desktop. Then select "explore." A complete listing of your computer folders and files will open. In the left-hand mini-window, locate the area where you downloaded the file. In the right-hand mini-window you can locate the downloaded file (pd.exe).
When you locate the downloaded file - double click it to execute it. Select "run" from the security hazard window.
A message will appear instructing you to select the "unzip" option in the next step.
The next window will have the "overwrite" box checked. If this is the first time you are setting up samples or the full gallery, then leave the box checked. If you are not sure, then uncheck the box (each file encountered that is a duplicate will open a window asking you to approve or disapprove the overwrite for that file).
It will self-extract its files. The location for the files will be the C drive at perfectdiagram (C:/perfectdiagram) unless you provide another address in the "unzip to folder" address-window.
The self-extraction will be quick. A "readme" file will open with some tips and additional directions. You may read it or chose to read these online versions (which are more detailed).
You are now ready to select the "how to" option in the menu and then "Word for Windows" directions.
